I have a customed made Hasselblad Lens to Mamiya 645 body adapter made by marrying the front part of a Hasselblad extension tube with a Mamiya lens bayonet mount. The cost is approx. US$450. In Hong Kong, there is a large stock of 2nd hand or 3rd hand Mamiya 645 lens so providing sufficient spare parts if you don't mind the sacrifice. After trying out the Hasselblad lens in comparsion with the M - lens of relative focal lengths, I would say the winner is ..... Well, I dare not say but leave the judgement to the eyes of the behold, depending on whether you are a Hasse or Leica fan. In comparison with the Hasselblad lens with the Mamiya Lens generally, well, the latter's quality is close - someone is going to kill me! but I made the judgement from doing the enlargement myself. Don't believe? try a comparsion between the SWC and the Mamiya 35mm f/3.5 or a Hasse 150 with a Mamiya A150 /f2.8. The M - lenses' quality, on the other hand, clearly surpass that of the Mamiya lenses, especially in the subtle tones. So, people are believing that the M lenses are fittable to Mamiya Pro. Perhaps we should explore and exploit the potential more. BTW, does anyone know that whether 'Brightie'(wrong spelling may be) has made a focusing screen for Mamiya 645 Pro? TK Chan tkc@hkstar.com
