Thanks Ric and Jayanand. Protesting is very cathartic, even though I had
to hide the Rolex and the right wing newspaper :-)

I enjoyed getting out of the house for the first time in a long time so
much that I went back to Dun Laoghaire this afternoon for a matinée
showing of "The Banshees of Inisherin" in the local cinema with my wife.
Nice to see a big screen again. Excellent film against a backdrop of
magnificent scenery and fully deserving of all its Oscar nominations. We
were probably the youngest in the more than likely fully five jabbed
audience.  I'll be going there again as I want to see my fellow Seapoint
swimmer Carrie Crowley in An Cailín Cuan (The Quiet Girl) on the big
screen. It's also nominated for an Oscar.

>> PS This protest was to deliver over 1,000 signatures to the county council, but was only attended by about 30 people as we had to present the petition during a working day. Most people were working, and many of the rest are scared of venturing out of their homes due to the tripledemic prevailing. While I'm chairman of the local Monkstown residents group, I was also appointed official cameraman, and rapidly found out that getting them all together for a group photo was the equivalent of herding cats. With my inactivity photographically over the period of the plague, I discovered that I really need a lot of practice to keep my eye in.

>> Greystar are a US property corporation - a behemoth - who we recently uncovered were the property managers for the infamous apartment in Berkeley where the balcony collapsed in 2015. Six people, all students - one Irish American and five Irish - were killed instantly, while another six had life changing injuries, and one of those died of those injuries in January last year. Unfortunately, we only discovered about Greystar's role after the deadline for written objections had passed. Local people are incensed at the thought of this crowd redrawing and dictating the shape and future of our village. For instance, the houses beside mine were built between 1795 and 1798.
