My experience with the electronic shutter is one of no appreciable
difference in dynamic range. A nephew was married in the most appallingly
dim setting with theater spot lights: the A1 kept detail in shadow and
almost all the highlights even at ISO 16000. As well, Texas has some very
bright sunlight which in the past was difficult to photograph in. The Sony
handles the dynamic range very well indeed..
