As long as you think twice before you take on Ulysses - I did it (actually
twice, to take it all in) some 45 years ago, when my concentration was much
better. Molly Bloom remarkable stream of consciousness soliloquy at the
end, as her mind wanders around her thoughts without a punctuation for
page after page after page, till its ecstatic ending is the greatest piece
of writing I have ever read in prose in my life. I still browse through
parts of it, but I cannot manage the whole thing at one sitting any more.
