I am writing this in the departure lounge of Munich airport. I was here for work, we had meetings at the European Patent Office this morning. So I travelled here yesterday and took advantage of the opportunity to visit the Oktoberfest for the first time since 2001. I just drank one beer (albeit a rather large one); I was here more for the atmosphere and the photos. A small selection follows. The colours are a bit funky in places, I will fix it at home when I set up the gallery.

The most amazing thing about Oktoberfest is that you have thousands of people drinking large quantities of beer, and nobody gets into a fight. It is truly good fun.
