Definitely.  When Tom pointed his camera toward a veiled woman, she would
hide her face or run away.  I was also allowed in homes and kitchens where
he was not allowed.  On the other hand, I was not allowed in several
mosques until our guide (who had studied to be an Imam) said, "You show me
in the Quran where it says women can't go in mosques."  There was only one
memorial that he could not talk me into.  Great guide!!
