[Leica] Photo-editing software recommendations?

All the upgrades are pretty seamless right now most often I'm informed when I wake up and sit down in front of my iMac with a hot cup of tea that my Adobe Bridge and Photoshop has been upgraded either by a major or minor amount. Also Microsoft office Outlook and Word etc. it's like they are in on it together. So it’s a no stress thing. 
Mainly the software companies are more on top of their software.
Normally I find upgrading anything on my computer especially the operating system pretty stressful. I've I had tranquilizers I'd take them.
