[Leica] Fort Wayne's Last Sears Store is Closing

Poor management is certainly a big part of it. I think that competition from Walmart hurt Sears more than other big department store chains was that they catered more to working class and middle class people, while the stores that are still doing ok are more high-end, so less affected by discounters.

I visited the US for the first time in the summer of 1978 and lived there from 1979 to 1980 and again from 1983 to 1995. So I remember when Sears was a store worth visiting. But already in the 90s (in New Jersey in this case) it was clear that this was a company searching for its identity. And when I have been inside Sears stores in recent years (when visiting the US), it was clear that this was a dying company. Not so much a sign of the times, more a sign of poor management I think.
