I also prefer the second one.  Mostly it is the play of light on the
water.  To your point on change; all I can say is that you must still be
alive.  Really not trying to be difficult as the ocean view must have been
a strong attractant to your present home.  Change is one thing that
happens: on the positive side our children grow up to be good people, and
on the down side glaciers melt and oceans rise.
