I have visited Alsace several time, both when I lived in Belgium in the 1990s (long drive) and especially later, when I lived in Switzerland (short drive), and more recently in connection with business trips to Strasbourg. There are many good reasons to visit this part of France, some of which are:

- Philippe and Alice live there
- the Riesling and the Gewurztraminer
- the choucroute
- the pictoresque towns like Riquewihr
- the Christmas market in Strasbourg
- the lovely landscapes
- did I mention the Riesling?

In general, I sometimes jokingly say that when it comes to food, Alsace is my favourite part of France: French quality combined with German quantity. What could be better?

Cheers and bon appétit!

Nathan
