Not only that, but you can eat the flower, raw or cooked.  They even stuff
the bloom with ricotta and/or other things, batter an fry them.  There’s a
Louisiana recipe with crawfish mousse.

Of course, they’re zucchini and squash over here.  Dunno why the Brits want
to use the French name!
