Firstly, a very big 'thank you' to all the LUG members who have wished me well following my cardiac arrest. I have been deeply moved by the friendship expressed by a group of people who, by and large, I have never met.

Progress has been slow, and I have been a lot weaker than I ever expected, but I am delighted to say that I can see slow but steady progress now. One of the biggest problems has been my inability to lie down to sleep because of pain. However I have now had two sessions of sleep (albeit short) in a horizontal position and last night managed around 3 and a half hours undisturbed which was excellent. Because of my sleeping position, and my slowness of walking , I have had severe problems with fluid retention in the legs and feet but thankfully this now appears to be slowly abating.

A plus-side to this has been that I have spent some time scanning images from around the year 2000 etc., most of which were shot on my M6 using slide film. I must say that I have been very pleasantly surprised with many of the results with the quality of image available using various films being quite amazing, having a certain tonality which is different to digital. I appreciate all that digital has to offer but it would now not worry me greatly if I had to go back to film as standard.

I will report again but in the meantime thank you all once more for your unconditional support.

Gerry
