Exactly what I was thinking, Jim. Most "real" camera batteries are in the
7-8 volt area, so usb charging is out of the question.

Aram, the problem may be voltage, not size. I think the SL battery is
8.4 volts, so the supply voltage source would have to be higher, if my
old EE recollections are correct. The iPhone batteries are only 3.8
volts. USB charging voltage is 5.0 volts, hence the SL can't charge
from those, but many smaller devices can.
