[Leica] Nathan's PAD 22/7/2017: the cemetery in Busot

Interesting, Nathan. Aside from the rains, perhaps there is a need among
humans to be buried with a view. When I go, my ashes will be scattered
on the top of Ireland's highest mountain, Carrauntoohil in Co. Kerry, as
I won the first race up and down it thirty years ago, but there are lots
of other examples of post-demise altitude aspirations. Down in Killarney
near Carrauntoohil, in Killegy cemetery, the man who donated large parts
of the national park to the nation - Arthur Vincent - was buried
standing up on a hill so the he could always see out over his land. The
small issue of six feet of earth blocking the view didn't seem to matter :-)

Raspe - the writer of The Adventures of Baron Munchausen - is apparently
buried close to him in an unmarked grave.

In Busot, I cycled up to the hilltop cemetery to have a look there. In most of the villages in the hilly interior of Alicante province (and elsewhere in Spain too), the cemetery is at the highest point of the village. I imagine it is to avoid flooding of the cemetery during the often violent rains in the winter.
