[Leica] OT: International Travel

I have no international travel plans at present, but shortly after 9-11,
about two months, I traveled to Italy, and I found the Italians aghast at
the thought of George Bush, but kind and sympathetic to me and understanding
of my attitude that "I didn't vote for him, but there's another election in
three years..."

I can understand how Europeans would be unsettled at the thought of an
American president that is so plainly Fascist, though. It has been reported
by a highly reliable source that Trump kept an early book by Adolph Hitler
on his nightstand.

Peter,

I agree with Nathan.

My wife is Colombian by origin, now British, and we usually speak to each
other in Spanish. Since the Brexit vote she has ocassionally noted altered
attitudes to her accent and to our speaking Spanish in the street. But
Europe is very cosmopolitan and generally welcoming to diversity. I travel
a lot around the world and would not feel inhibited from continuing to do
so.
