[Leica] IMG: Mallorca and Ibiza: kitsch and beauty

I spent last weekend in Mallorca with my friend Lars. We were supposed to cycle in a 400 km event beginning Saturday at 7 a.m. and probably finishing about 20 hours later, but in the end we had to abandon after about 40 km because Lars had come down with bronchitis earlier in the week and despite the meds prescribed by my doctor he just could not breathe going up the hills. But the trip was not a total loss, as it gave us more time to explore Mallorca photographically. I have many images from there in the weekly blog that I will post later, but in the meantime here is a small gallery, showing the kitschy side of Palma de Mallorca, catering to German and other northern European tourism, and the rural interior of the island. On the way home on Sunday the ferry made a stop at Ibiza which allowed for a few images from there too:
