[Leica] How did 50mm become the "normal" lens for 35mm cameras?

Peter, I think you'll find that the Fuji equivalence ratio is 1.5, which 
makes the 35/2, which I also use, have the same viewing angle as a 52.5 
full frame lens.  So, it could be thought of as a 50mm f/2.
