We spent last weekend in Gibraltar, my second visit there. A funny place with many facets—a piece of England in southern Spain, an outpost of the Empire that once was, fish & chips in the sunshine (and excellent ones, I might add), monkeys…I also discovered that there is a strong Jewish presence, going back centuries.
