I used to work for an electric cooperative in Tampa in the 1980s, serving large parts of rural North Florida, so I have seen a lot of the type of infrastructure you depict. I also see it in the villages I visit here in Spain when I am cycling in the interior. In Alicante, at least the part of town where we live, most cables are underground.
Cheers,
Nathan
