[Leica] Peacocks and People

Interesting to see these excellent shots of Peacocks in the wild.

In my neighborhood in New Orleans, we had a neighbor who was a keeper from
the Audubon Zoo, and he often fostered animals at home.

Once he brought a small flock of peafowl home because one of the hens had a
slight injury. Apparently the cock would not let them take her away unless
he was along.

Since it was a bird sanctuary neighborhood, the guy let them wander free in
the yards.

The upshot was we couldn't feed our cats outside, as the birds would clean
out the bowls of dry food.

One time, the peacock stood between me and my car, and since his hens were
present, wouldn't let me pass.
