Steve,
The only information I obtain is from the LFI chats about this point, I have fast followed the emails and it looks that after late January Leica is replacing the MM sensors with a new sensor with a new coating protecting against corrosion, here you have the link:

But unfortunately no official announcement on Leica Website or Blog…! Incredible!!! All the information I have is from persons in the LFI that they say they have wrote to Leica and Leica has said…Bla..bla..bla..
