Sure about that?  We had a cat that jumped 8 feet straight up in the air to 
snag a bat circling our porch light.  I saw it.  Sitting below the light, 
head moving about watching, then hunch down and spring straight up.  That 
was back in the late 60's.  I still have that bat in a jar with formaldehyde 
or alcohol.  The budding science teacher in me just had to have it in my 
collection.

Yes, he chases all birds.  We're trying to teach them to only chase rats
and voles and other vermin and leave the birds alone.  My bird feeders are
really high so there is no chance they'll actually catch one!
