Hi Aram, I have the first available Noctilux made in Canada when they were being made here rather than Germany. Leica had their new lens/camera manufacturing plant in Midland, Ontario, north of Toronto. So I guess I kind of got lucky being in he right place at the right time. And I've never been sorry I bought it.
If one uses it every day it's sharp right on the mark at f 1.0 or f22!
In my case I used mine when producing my medical books and everything in the OR's was shot by available light.

I think the sharpness problems only occur due to "users" not working with the lens on a day to day time frame and over a fair number of days, weeks, months, years, whatever?

And in Tina's case she used hers for a very long period of time and shooting under almost every type of lighting conditions one could ever imagine.

cheers,
ted :-)

Well, if you can focus a Nocti that well with just a viewfinder, any lens should be a piece of cake. Not much Dof with that lens to have any forgiveness.

Neither - just nice bright EVF! It's amazing. I know you can do magnified and focus peaking but I haven't gotten that far in the manual yet!
