I used cheap China filters. Your exposure needs will be different from mine as the response of the filter will be different. Use what I said as a guideline or starting point. Also, your combined spectral response will be different. Your images will be different from mine.

About other filter cutoff frequencies.... This is a Physics/optics issue...
Your M8 has a certain frequency response, with the feature that as you go up in frequency, the sensor becomes less sensitive. The IR filter is a high pass filter, essentially eliminating lower frequencies. Essentially, you could get very low sensitivity with the wrong combination.. Loooooooooong exposures.
Try out any combo you want. It will become quickly obvious what works for you.

I miss my M8.

Thanks, Nathan. I’ve ordered the B+W 093 55mm filter. In Heliopan terms, it would seem to be an 830, so I’m expecting some pretty pronounced effects.

The B+W 093 appears to result in good images from what I’ve seen online, but its specifications seem to indicate that it admits only wavelengths longer than where the M8’s filter starts to be really effective. OTOH, the 092 filter appears to pass a good deal of visible red, not what I’m after.

For some reason, the answer to this seemingly simple question has been astoundingly difficult to find by googling.
