The LUG should differentiate ( and know the difference between) a technical
review and a user review..... Both have merit.

Technical reviews, if done right, show what the equipment is capable of.
The review should be quite analytical and objective. They may or should be
comparative to be useful to the greater community. ....A is better than B.
User reviews are really subjective. They are personal. The words .. I
like... or ..I Prefer... or ... I think.. are all applicable. This part of
the review is the part you must check out for yourself... Does it work for
ME? How well?

Bias is part of the game..... You must take it into account.....

How many guys that tell that tell the world: camera model 7978 from the XY
Camera Company is incredibly bad, will get a second chance?

Most good "reviewers" are only experts at photographing brick walls and test
charts. Esoteric measurements tell us nothing about how a piece of equipment
will perform in the real world.
