[Leica] Lei-ko R lens to S body adapter ring

John,

I heard about the Mamiya 300 APO. In my circumstance (and Doug’s, I imagine), I would like to use the same lens for both my DMR and S (006). Having an adapter, which works (with limitations) on the S, is a huge boon, as the 180/2 and 280/4 are two of my favourite lenses - virtually irreplaceable.

But there is a distinct lack of longer focal lengths, which I do use. Thus I wanted to know if the 280/4 would focus at a reasonable distance to shoot motorsport or aircraft. Also i anted to know if the 180/2 would focus to enable me to do concert and stage shots.

The rumoured 350 S lens may well not happen. Focus is manual of course with stop down metering. The max focus distance is limited, unless you send the lenses to Leica for adjustment.

My newer copy (ROM) focuses only slightly past infinity and even has a different focussing pitch. Sounds like the older version is a better fit for the S2 + lei-ko adapter.
