I HAD TO ANSWER YOUR POST FOR SURE, SIMPLY BECAUSE OF YOUR CLOSING COMMENT!

I LOVE IT SIMPLY BECAUSE IN ALL MY YEARS OF USING LEICA'S AND SEEN MESSAGES 
ABOUT "BOKEH" ALL I KNOW ABOUT IT? I THINK IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH 
GRAIN/ sharpness???????????? OR WHATEVER?????
A REASONABLE NUMBER OF MY PHOTOS HAVE BEEN BLOWN UP TO 30"= 40" INCHES FOR 
EXHIBITIONS IN CANADIAN EMBASSIES ABOUT THE WORLD. NOBODY COMPLAINED???????? 
BECAUSE THERE WASN'T ANY BOHEK?
I FIGURE A PHOTOGRAPHER HAS ENOUGH TO BE CONCERENED ABOUT WHEN CAPTURING THE 
MAGIC MOMENT, THAN FIDDILING ABOUT "WHATEVER BOHEK IS AS THE "BABY IS 
ARRIVING IN THE OPEN WORLD!"
OR THE BRIDE IS WEARING HER MOST BEAUTIFUL SMILE OF THE DAY!
OH YEAH? WHAT IS THIS "BOKEH THING ANYWAY?" AND WHERE IS IT SUPPOSED TO BE 
FOUND IN A PHOTO OF ANY SIZE FROM 4X6 TO 30X40???
PLEASE WOULD SOMEONE LIKE TO DO ME A FAVOUR AND EXPLAIN TO ME "with simple 
language?" BY RETURN MAIL! WHAT IT IS? AND HOW DOES IT MAKE OR BREAK A 
BEAUTIFUL CAPTURED MOMENT?????? THANKYOU VERY KINDLY.

Ted! A nice post to read. You've been my main mentor for a couple of decades 
now if you knew it or not and on this post I do agree with every tiny detail 
of what you're saying here tech wise and other wise.
One key thing I hope people notice you're saying here is that you stop down 
a reasonable about to get depth of field. 
Many  people here seem to feel like they've got to open the thing all the 
way all the time or the heavens will rain fire down upon them, then don't 
get their focus.  Lots of bokeh though.
When they read that you stop down they won't be afraid to do it themselves.
Me, I'm at f5.6 on wides and f8 as a default on normal and tele's kind a 
guy. Day or night. That way I just might actually get the thing in focus. 
And a few other things too.   Always nice. Some things you can't reshoot. I 
don?t mind getting every little thing in focus front to back.

    DO I BLOW ANY????????????? YOU BET! SURE! HOWEVER, AT MY 90 YEAR OLD BODY
    AND ONE GOOD EYE ONLY! WHAT DO YOU EXPECT?
    BUT DO YOU KNOW WHAT? I'D DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN (70 YEARS CLICKING FROM 
DAY
    ONE START.) CLICKING ALL THE WAY! UNTIL MY 100TH BIRTHDAY! IN 9 YEARS!
    1.MAKE THE 100 YEARS, EVEN MORE SO?
    HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE! ONE DAY AT A TIME!!
