Nathan and Douglas,

If you thought my comments were about the Argentine-Britain conflict, I
clearly failed to communicate.
This planet has witnessed man-made wars for thousands of years. There is
little to suggest there won't be countless more wars in future. Only a
failure of the imagination would allow anyone to suppose they or their
descendants won't be affected. It's a profoundly serious subject (and OT
here).

Don McCullin has spent much of his life photographing the suffering caused
by wars around the world. Why? He believed his images would effect change by
condemning the horror of war. It's failed. He is now in a position to point
out the inevitability of wars while we humans persist with our current
notions and social structures. The concept of Empire would be a good place
to start. For me, it's a missed opportunity.

Bob

It all started with a bunch of scrap merchants raising
the Argentine flag on South Georgia.

For a change, the Wikipedia article seems to be pretty
precise.
