This planet has witnessed man-made wars for thousands of years. There is little to suggest there won't be countless more wars in future. Only a failure of the imagination would allow anyone to suppose they or their descendants won't be affected. It's a profoundly serious subject (and OT here). Don McCullin has spent much of his life photographing the suffering caused by wars around the world. Why? He believed his images would effect change by condemning the horror of war. It's failed. He is now in a position to point out the inevitability of wars while we humans persist with our current notions and social structures. The concept of Empire would be a good place to start. For me, it's a missed opportunity. For a change, the Wikipedia article seems to be pretty precise. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falklands_War Cheers Douglas On 05.01.2017 18:01, Nathan Wajsman wrote: > The last time I checked, the Falklands War was started not by Britain but > by an Argentine military junta which has totally screwed up the country > and thought that the conquest would provide a useful distraction for the > population.
