IF the only difference is the cover glass, how does the firmware know which coverglass is installed? The new firmware must somehow be told, through some setting on the sensor module assembly which cover glass is in place. Ie, they are changing the sensor assembly and modifying that new assembly in some (could be hard wired or a software setting) way to tell the firmware what glass is installed. But I go to my final statement, you can not tell that a new sensor cover glass is installed from the firmware edition. Except v1.202 does not have the new cover glass... I should state that my now broken M9 has no glass cover plate clips to hold everything together. I was surprised. The firmware notices that old sensor with the original cover glass is present and reverts to the spectral parameters used in version 1.202 regards Meino de Graaf > On 6/2/2016 11:09 PM, Frank Verizon 2 2016 wrote: > Not so sure I understand your point... > >From what has been said.... > That the current user installable M9 firmware is v 1.202. 1.204 is not on > the Leica site for download. > Cameras that have gone back to Leica, and had their sensor replaced, have > v 1.204 installed.
