I had an operation to remove a non-maglignant lump. My blood pressure was so
high they delayed the operation, but it could have been nerves, my heart
rate and BP are normal now. At least I got a check-up. I had always avoided
health checks since I expected to die young, like my Dad and Grandad. It
looks like I have inherited my maternal side genes since my only health
problem seems to be overweight by 14lb. Easier to fix than colesterol and BP
problems, I suppose.
We have started using older plates, which are smaller. There is little doubt
that our healthier forebears ate smaller portions and the obscene "all you
can eat for 9.99" has a lot to answer for.

I have followed your reports on your experience with interest and sympathy.
