Bluetooth is pretty slow. I don't think you want to transfer many DNGs over 
BT. :)

I don't shoot a huge amount so an iPad with 64GB of storage is usually 
sufficient for my simple needs. The iPad acts as backup to the images on the 
SD cards. This way I don't have to carry yet-another-storage-device to 
backup the images on the SD cards (which can die at any time).

iOS iPhoto's favourite setting doesn't get copied anywhere. The iOS and the 
Mac version are completely independent as I found out. I haven't found a way 
to sync iOS version with Mac version except via the Camera Roll which is a 
pretty crude mechanism (and looses the Favourite bit). :(
