I do not buy my cameras because some pro's use them I buy them because they fit the way I like to create photos. I own Leica's and also have 2 Nikon's, and I could care less if pro's or a particular pro uses either of them. The Nikon D700 I own mostly sits on the shelf, as it is two noisy to my ears, while the D4 is a super whizband camera that has more controls on it than I will ever use, but I find I have use for it's features that i do need or find useful. I get the most satisfaction out of using my M8, and R8DMR, and they do only 1/4 of the things the Nikons do, but their simplicity inspire me and I find I enjoy using them and creating photographs with them, they just work. I do not use Canon, as it offers me nothing that inspires me. So can we please put this stupid thread to bed, and get back to things of real value, like what type of hat we wear... ;D Cheers, Gene ----- Original Message ----- From: "George Lottermoser" <imagist3 at mac.com> To: "Group Users Leica" <lug at leica-users.org> Sent: Monday, December 3, 2012 10:43:18 PM GMT -06:00 US/Canada Central Subject: Re: [Leica] Fwd: Professional use and Professionalism On Dec 3, 2012, at 10:34 PM, Mark Rabiner wrote: > Not a fancy camera George, a larger format camera. > > Mark William Rabiner > Photography > http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/lugalrabs/ > > >> From: Lottermoser George <imagist3 at mac.com> >> Reply-To: Leica Users Group <lug at leica-users.org> >> Date: Mon, 03 Dec 2012 22:03:42 -0600 >> To: Leica Users Group <lug at leica-users.org> >> Subject: [Leica] Fwd: Professional use and Professionalism >> >> On Dec 3, 2012, at 2:39 AM, Mark Rabiner wrote: >>> >>>> If you used it to shoot a wedding half the wedding party would be >>>> shooting >>>> with a better camera than you are. >>> >>> And if you aren't getting better shots than them >>> no matter what camera you're using >>> then you are NOT a "Professional;" >>> >>> just another person with a fancy camera. The name on the camera: "fancy" or "larger format" or "whatever?" does not determine nor capture: the Light, the Moment, the Composition, the Emotion, the Drama the Concept The best professionals will with whatever camera they have in their hands.
