I cannot tell the difference in shutter lag from my M8, R8DMR, or Nikon D4. I have not missed a action photo from any of them due to shutter lag, my reaction time is the major culprit. ;) Gene ----- Original Message ----- From: "Marty Deveney" <benedenia at gmail.com> To: "Leica Users Group" <lug at leica-users.org> Sent: Monday, November 5, 2012 11:54:36 PM GMT -06:00 US/Canada Central Subject: Re: [Leica] Marty, shutter lag in digital M I wish they were faster, but they still work pretty well, including for portraits: http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/freakscene/MM/S-jr.jpg.html http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/freakscene/MM/Veronica+2-9-12-web.jpg.html http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/freakscene/MM/Niamh+2-9-12-web.jpg.html http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/freakscene/75+Summilux/fionn1.jpg.html I prefer a rangefinder with long lag to an SLR with short lag. The best SLRs are now faster than all film Leicas apart from the M7, to which they are about equivalent.
