Subject: [Leica] THE 617 tests, something is very wrong here

Try this to eliminate problems in scanning.....

Take a neg or 2 and scan them. Then TURN THE NEGS AROUND....so that frame 1
which was at the bottom, is now at the top... you get the idea?

If the problem is scanner planarity, then the results will follow the
location of the film not the image #.

You said the results at F11 or 16 are worse.. define worse.....

Try my trick with the scanner on the camera back... invert it. So now the
right is on the left, and the left is on the right. What results do you
get?

Did someone teach you to feel for the standards to be in the zero position,
rather than reading any sort of markers?

I still feel it is either something so basic in what you are doing that we
are all missing it, or the camera roll film back is to blame....

And believe me, we should all have heard every mistake possible....

Correct - I am using the Epson 3200 for now. I couldn't get the Nikon
LS-9000 to work well for stitching (and it does take forever).

Since all 3 lens produce not so stellar results, this obviously mean a user
error somewhere (unless it's the film back), so one more test today....
