I was Mazda's biggest fan until it hit 36,000 miles. Worked flawlessly until
the warranty expired. Then it was the car from hell, breaking down every
month or so with the repair bill (plus towing) eating up 1/3 of my income.

When I was getting my car insurance transferred to my new Ford, the State
Farm guy on the line asked if it was falling apart regularly. His Mazda did
too.

By the way, I went through 5 batteries in 4 years. They gave me a free new
battery every time, and indicated that all of the batteries of late were
worthless.

Buy American. They can't afford to admit that their vehicles are crap, so
they will fix them.
