How unwieldy that must be! -----Original Message----- From: H&ECummer Sent: Monday, February 27, 2012 2:09 AM To: lug at leica-users.org Subject: [Leica] How to photograph a safari > Date: Sun, 26 Feb 2012 22:02:22 -0600 > From: "Bill Pearce" <billcpearce at cox.net> > Subject: Re: [Leica] How to photograph a safari > To: "Leica Users Group" <lug at leica-users.org> > > why would you not use it in the jeep? Jeeps in India have a roll bar in the back which you can hang on to when standing and putting a bean bag on that bar and standing up to take photos gave me a clearer vantage point and a freedom to pan and swivel that I didn't get with my tripod when I was using it as a monopod. In Africa the jeeps we used had push up tops so you were naturally standing and leaning on the edge of the side of the jeep. It was a perfect spot for a bean bag with the same facility of movement as using the roll bar in India. So, I'm sold on bean bags - but I recognize in that spirit of YMMV - other methods work well for others too. Cheers Howard. _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
