bags are much better. Having them on the 'roof rails' and hanging lower
out the window gives you different options/angles for your shots.

Neither the jeeps or Land Rovers had roofs or doors, not a one I saw. But, 
my monopod rested perfectly with it's end on the floor. Perhaps in the 
African Disneyland called Kenya it is different, but where I was, no roof or 
doors. And, actually, almost no jeeps, almost all Toyota Land Cruisers. Take 
that, Chrysler.
