A good Leica lens will produce a better quality image, pano or not, than a Holga lens. A longer lens will give you the same characteristics in a pano as in a non-pano: image compression, smaller field of view, generally the exact characteristics of that lens. For WA lenses used on a pano mount turning on a level nodal point, you will need much greater overlap per frame or your stitched image will have curvature top and bottom. You will either have to crop to the points closest to the image center or distort the image. Best to get one of these: http://www.alpa.ch/en/products/cameras/camera-bodies/alpa-12-max.html Any of the SK lenses 35mm and up will give great flat pano images because the lens is stationary and the digital back rises/falls/shifts :-) Bob Adler http://www.rgaphoto.com On Jan 31, 2012, at 10:32 PM, Richard Man <richard at richardmanphoto.com> wrote: > Other than the difference in number of frames to cover a particular area, > are there image quality differences in using a longer lens rather than a > shorter lens?
