Every once in a while it will not completely wind the shutter, I then have to push the shutter release a second time to get it fully wound. I am guessing a capacitor in the power/winder unit has gotten soft and does not charge up completely and will not fully wind the shutter. I guess a trip to NJ is in order one of these days, as I'm sure there is no way to get repair/schematic documents of the unit etc. I can always use the manual wind lever. ;) Cheers, Gene ----- Original Message ----- From: wildlightphoto at earthlink.net To: lug at leica-users.org Sent: Thursday, December 8, 2011 5:01:05 PM GMT -06:00 US/Canada Central Subject: Re: [Leica] Would you buy a Leicaflex SL2 these days? My first R8 was purchased used in 2005 IIRC and worked with the DMR from the start. Perhaps Adam Bridge can tell us when it was first purchased. It's the energizer bunny; it keeps going and going and going and going... The second R8 was a freebie with the second DMR (tangled shutter blades). It has flat gold contacts, FWIW. Once I untangled the shutter blades it too has been like the energizer bunny.
