Other's will know the details better, but there may be some farm land and that may be Owen's Lake. There are also salt ponds around that area. The White Mountains, I believe, are in the background with Death Valley on the other side, a bit to the right (south). As to the quality of the prints you saw, I'll just say you can't turn a sow's ear into a silk purse. One of the reasons I bought this system (and used Leica's too) is that you can't blame the camera!! Regarding printing from MF digital: I've been to some shows recently that featured extra large prints, that were, to be kind, just terrible. I was told they were printed from MF digital images. They were muddy and poorly focused, but really, really big. So, I suppose MF digital may be good, but there has to be an equally good printing process.
