Forget about international for a moment, you order an M9 from B&H and they ship it in US via Priority Mail or FedEX. Chances are that it's not insured for $7000 unless you pay for it. Priority Mail is automatically insured for up to ($100?) and they can see from their data which carrier has the best record to which state etc. I ship electronic parts that are sometimes worth several thousands dollars. Typically I ship out an M9's worth of parts each week and get the same incoming. I ship to all parts of US, and from Canada to South Africa, although I limit international shipment to countries that can be reached by Express Mail or FedEX only. The worse country is Brazil and Argentina, sometimes even FedEX packages seem to take forever there. In any case, I have yet (knock on wood) to lose a package.
