All I hear about it ands see is ground breaking image making. I've run into no negative feed back at all on the sensor till now. Other than a slight lack of high iso use which is normally expected of a full frame camera but it does have a lot of megapixels in there; making for smallish image grabbing sites. Its darned hard to address "contrast" issues when we're in the realm of digital phohotogahy as we can easily just tweak the histogram and we have matched images. I think someone would take these two image from this example and carefully match them so they would be in all respects identical and that would take less then four minutes tops. I'm still assuming an M9 with its full frame sensor can shoot rings around a DMR in most circumstances which would be of course more extenuating. As in maybe iso 400 and maybe not high noon on a roof. I don't think Leica all of a sudden got stupid when it picked out the sensor and its back up mechanisms for the Leica M9. -------------------- Mark William Rabiner Photography http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/lugalrabs/ mark at rabinergroup.com Cars: http://tinyurl.com/2f7ptxb > From: Gene duprey <grduprey at mchsi.com> > Reply-To: Leica Users Group <lug at leica-users.org> > Date: Sun, 7 Nov 2010 22:49:00 -0600 (CST) > To: Leica Users Group <lug at leica-users.org> > Subject: Re: [Leica] Comparison M9, R9 > > Mark, > > The M9 may have a newer and better sensor, also the M8, however, the > firmware > written for them is not up to the standard written for the DMR by Imacon. > As > Doug has said many times it is almost Kodachrome in its color space and > also > dynamic range.
