I'm just an 80-yr old guy who shoots photos for fun, and really couldn't care less how they measure up to your so-called "standards". I purchase gear that serves me well, for MY purposes. What you must do to make a living in this crazy world of photography is really up to you. My late father-in-law gave it up and went into local politics. I'm not sure either is a real money maker these days.
