However read the detail of the hardware setup that Kyle used for this recent series. The iPhone is the least important part of the process. Even a very modest P&S might accomplish as much or more. I am only referring to the photography process. In my view the results are despite, not because of the tool. Good luck to him and as I mentioned that is probably why Kyle is an successful artiste and I am not ;-) Cheers Geoff http://www.pbase.com/hoppyman On 16 July 2010 06:39, George Lottermoser <imagist3 at mac.com> wrote: > When the artist understands > the aesthetic possibilities > found within any tool > the magic occurs. > > Many will look at these artists work > and attempt to replicate their art. > > Most will fail > (while many viewers may not realize > that they've failed). > > The right tool for the job at hand > may be iPhone 4 in the right hands. > > A large part of what Kyle showed > involved an entire process of not only photography > but also cutting edge data communication between, > photographer, poet(s), stylist(s), book designer and > state of the art hardware and software (available at absurdly low prices). > > Kyle is showing us (part of) the future - NOW. > > Regards, > George Lottermoser > george at imagist.com > http://www.imagist.com > http://www.imagist.com/blog > http://www.linkedin.com/in/imagist > > > > > > > On Jul 14, 2010, at 6:45 PM, Geoff Hopkinson wrote: > > I confess that I don't 'get' going to all of the trouble of setting up >> lights and stands and all of the rest to try to extract the best you can >> from your phone. >> > > > _______________________________________________ > Leica Users Group. > See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information >
