Last Nite while scanning my Kodachromes I also downloaded the free trial 
of Silverfast - too many options to push and I couldn't really see much 
difference.  I use Vuescan set to K'chrome with light dust setting and 
it is fine as far as I can tell.  Kodachrome like all slide films is a 
high contrast media and so some scenes are blown out but would be even 
if using Provia etc.
