I got them for the (for me) bamk bustin' amount of $225 combined. So of course that being eBay it turned out the shutters on the camera stick half the time and are not timed properly; and the lens won't open up any wider than approximately f9. I love the way they look together though. So recently on a sunny enough day I stuck the Summar on my G1 (via the LTM to M adapter followed by the M to m4/3 adapter...) to see what it looks like. Here's some boring shots from off the driveway, 2 in b+w and 2 in color. I (oddly) like the color, a kind of intelligent de-saturation it has. The b+w I'd have to try on film to give an assessment worth much. http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/toast+eatin_+bog+man/Summar+5+0cm+f9/ Anyway -- is this equipment (lens first I guess) worth saving? Anyone know if a 1948-1951 era Summar is coated or not? Should one re-coat it? In what ballpark of unholy sums would the stuck aperture repair cost? Who in US are good places to get quotes from? Many thanks Vince On Fri, Apr 9, 2010 at 4:51 PM, James Laird <digiratidoc at gmail.com> wrote: > Like I said, XP2 and the Elmar for that look! > > Jim > > On Fri, Apr 9, 2010 at 3:45 PM, Robert Meier <robertmeier at usjet.net> > wrote: > > Mark, > > > > I like your mirror self portraits.
