There's always secondhand Leica lenses, too--I'm still amazed by the results I get from my 70s Summilux. It's taken a pounding, and I've had it back to Sherry Krauter for a CLA, but it's still notably better than other lenses I've used. Same with my pre-ASPH Summicron 35. I find that non-Leica lenses are OK for focal lengths/speeds that I rarely need. For that reason I bought a CV 35/1.2 and a CV 28/3.5, which are both fine with I need those focal lengths/speeds. Just remember - you get what you pay for. The Leica lenses are worth whatever you have to pay for them. Just compare them at 100%. If you buy anything less than Leica, you will regret it.
