Canon would have no reason to do this that I can see. Didn't CV have something to do with the Epson digital rangefinder? If it really comes with that 35/1.2 lens... The combo will cost a little under $3000 I predict. Like $2800. CV is all about pricing. The camera alone $1995, like the Sony A850. Them's my predictins, if CV really does release a rangefinder.
