I absolutely agree that the simple rules are the only ones which can be
properly policed. Since big money came into F1 the politicians have
interfered with the rule making in order to manipulate the sport, but
without understanding the implications of the vagueness and complexity, and
refusing to listen to explanations.
IMO the rules are so complicated and impossibly expensive to police,
anything could happen. Which may well be what the politicians wanted, then
-anything- can be protested and -any- defence may work. ie the powers that
be can manipulate the results...
