Always nice.

I'm not sure this is compatible with the fundamental M8/M9 design and
not sure I'd want it if it were. This seems to be a DSLR feature. The
M9 isn't a DSLR.

Not a DSLR.

How much volume and weight are you willing to give up? Why not simply
carry another little GPS receiver and merge the results in software?
It might be smaller/easier. Do you want a 12 minute wait for the
little GPS to find itself when it has travelled to the other end of
the earth?

Again: how much weight/volume. There's no such thing as a free lunch
here. I think you want something the M9 isn't. Why not include cell
phone functionality as well? And games?

I'm being a little flippant here but I don't want a camera that trades
off it's fundamentals to add extra features.

The M9 is a rangefinder digital camera. Why make it into a video
camera that does a half-way job? It doesn't make sense. Yes, it's nice
to have multi-taskers but to me Leica means making cutting edge images
with great glass. I don't want the design compromised (more than it
already is to be M-lens compatible) so it's part iPod, part iPhone and
able to receive Air Route Traffic Control transmissions.

High ISO, though, is where it's at.

Another post asked for a modular system that could be upgraded. I
think the dealers would object mightily to this as they'd lose the
sale of another, newer camera. Personally I'd love it but again, I
wouldn't want the M8 form factor to be changed very much from what it
is.

My opinion, worth, well, zip really unless someone at Leica calls me
up to come run the company.
